Description
Hi and thank you for shopping buy. Buy it now, this really nice contemporary reproduction of an earlier period, 1830s, pillar and splat clock. This is in running condition. I did have it running for a bit while photographing it & it seemed to be “happy”. Strikes on the hour. I would say that this was made c 1930s. I’ve had it for about 35 years.
This nice piece measures; approximately 27 1/2 inches high to the top of the finials buy approximately 15 inches wide across the front buy approximately 5 inches deep.
This clock features a hook on the back if you want a wall hanger, pineapple finials that were then & still are representative of hospitality, & a carved set of columns, 1 on each side of the front, with a carved American Eagle centered between the 2 finials. It also has “paw” feet reminiscent of a lion’s foot.
The glass tablet is reverse painted & in excellent condition, no flaking. The cabinet is in superb condition. It might need a bit of polish or cleaning to remove any dust or “spots”. It MIGHT need a movement cleaning / oiling. There is no key included with this.
I’ve had this for about 35 years and have enjoyed it. It has a nice look.
